Project background
The Hardwood Lands project was developed and is operated by SWEB Development within the context of the “Community feed-in tariff program”. The project was part of the third phase of projects that were developed in Nova Scotia, which was completed near the end of 2016.
The facility is located not far from the Nine Mile River Project in the centre of the province of Nova Scotia. Hardwood Lands is built on two separate properties owned by different lumber companies.
This 6-megawatt project consists of three turbines.
In 2018 Nova Scotia Power developed a pilot project using our three wind turbines at Hardwood Lands to supply a 2 MW Tesla battery loacated at their Elmsdale substation. This project is called the Intelligent Feeder Project, more informatkion can be obtained by clicking on the green button below.
