See the positive impact wind power can make

Changing the world for the better means striving to do business "right." For the Scotian Wind team, that means ensuring our model builds shared value for Nova Scotians and the environment. Our goal is to accelerate Nova Scotia's transition to net zero carbon by building wind power projects that provide long-term dividends to the communities in which we operate, ensuring we leave a positive and lasting legacy.

Our approach

People

We're committed to engaging openly with the communities where we invest, ensuring we deliver wind projects that give back. Each year, we donate 1% of gross revenue from our local wind projects to non-profit organizations in the communities where those projects are based. Our commitment provides a stable funding source for local school programming, scholarships, recreation programs or facilities and other social projects.

Protecting the environment is at the heart of our renewable energy projects and operations, and embedded in our business model. We design and run our wind projects to minimize impacts on local ecosystems and deliver net gain for the environment. We're committed to resilience for Nova Scotia's ecosystems by mitigating climate change and contributing the province's transition toward a low-carbon energy society.

Prosperity

Generating clean electricity for our provincial grid is only part of the equation. We aim to do business on a foundation of integrity and purpose, delivering renewable wind power at scale that also contributes to local economic growth, community prosperity, job creation and shareholder value—demonstrating that long-term benefits and sustainable returns are possible through clean, reliable energy.

Our progress

Our wind portfolio contributes directly to the UN SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals). Our focus includes working with local partners to target social investments for marginalized groups and those who need economic support, and supporting our province in making wind one of the single largest contributors to the decarbonization of our energy sector.
